Duty Content

Post by tomangoe »

Our manager is going to change our duty content (Indoor work) without our input or approval,or our Reps. She has also refused to let me see details of my Job Description (318) which I thought under The Way Forward Agreement had to show details of each part of a duty. Can I demand to see my Duty details and can they just change them ?

"Where simple opportunities to improve are identified, they should be recorded and
introduced quickly and communicated to all employees within the work area. A record
of all changes shall be kept and shall be notified in writing to the CWU local
representatives on a regular basis.

Where changes are suggested that affect staffing arrangements, (ie agreed job
desciptions and duty patterns)
these will be progressed in line with the agreed revisions
procedures and the Industrial Relations Framework. This will fully involve the local CWU
representative at an early stage."

Way Forward (Making Improvements)

If your Manager is bringing in changes without agreement of local reps, you need to get on to your Area Rep.
And you should have access to your Job Description.

You mean they want a local trial - well I would ask how do you know if a trial worked when the people carrying out were not fully informed of what the trial entails. How can an accurate trial report be made either by the Union or Royal Mail when the full details or even the majority of the details being trialled are not known or not documented.
