Can a Post Office refuse a post person there mail when pouching off ????

Without knowing the reason given I would say in general no. The mail has to be returned by some method and if pouching off is policy within your DO they should not then refuse. In fact don't they get a payment for posties pouching off :hmmmm . I'll check with my friendly sub office on Monday.

:nana They used to receive a payment, but that stopped, since then, a lot of P.O's aare reluctant to take them in.

They said they were not aware they could refuse and would not do so anyway, they are checking. However just had a thought we have a Post Office section here and they might not have seen this thread - I'll change title and copy it into their section to see if we get a reply.

Our DO does not use this method. However as it's a six mile journey for me to the office I simply refuse to bring it back and it gets left at the bagdrop for a driver to pick up. Always notify the manager though but essentially, no delivery time left = not your problem.

Normally I would bring it back and bag a little overtime but I have no goodwill left anymore.
