Cwu vs royal mail

Ive been a postie now for just over a year now, n whilst happy with my ft job and good pay i have never felt secure and fully safe with my job. Everything that happens or any change is a good reason for a battle between cwu and royal mail. In my time in the job i have never known the 2 sides to fully agree with anything and this leads to confusion, mre rumours and low morale. One question i woz asking b4 woz why they cant jus get along,but obviously this is a feud enriched in history and based on poor foundations. The monthly propaganda, the courier and the voice is another example or different views and different, it seems, objectives frm the 2 feuding organisations. I am grateful ultimately for cwu and do think they do a great job, for my as a newbie, its hard 2undastand the constant bickering and disagreements btween the two. Will it change? I v v v much doubt it, a fresh start cant be started in my opinion,as management on both sides are not going 2 c eye 2 eye without bein suspicious becoz of the bad past. At the end of the day we work 4 royal mail, disagreements av been set up in my office since last September and stil nothing has been done, so does the union have any power, or is it royal mail does not listen? This is just my point of view,and my side of things,hope it makes sum sense!? In a job iv neva been happier in,iv neva felt so unstable at the same time? Fight the privitisation! As 1 we are united!

What he/she is trying to say is why is there so much bickering and dissagrement between RML and CWU. Its true to say that most of the time in may places at many levels in RML there is conflict.

There is some very pertinent points made , I've seen this in the run up to Privatization before , you would be forgiven for thinking you worked for a different firm with them and us .

In the same industry it probably suited Senior Management having three unions for divide and rule

You've got to look at the Sawyer Report Findings , the "solution" being :lfo who immediately tried to play everyone up against the CWU at every opportunity . Apparently some of his briefings for DUM's who are supposed to be his mouthpieces were allegedly reminiscent of a Nuremburg Rally .

You've got to look at Trust , the playground level of IR , Hooper saying that RM had failed to take staff with them , I once googled RM IR and found this Police Message Board and a Special Constable who worked for RM & a few others suggested it's also AMICUS / CMA part of UNITE V the CWU .

I have noticed there is a few CMA activists that are equally as " militant " as their CWU counterparts , it's just with a different twist .

Fozziebear has made a few telling remarks , a lot of RM managers with any go in them jumped off the sinking ship and joined the competition , but it meant there was a lot of hacks that stayed as they were not exactly a headhunter's target but as long as they showed loyalty to :cfo they were OK .
