Hi i was wondering if anyone knows if i can have my hours reduced, im currently on 25 hours per week i do packets and an SA in the afternoon, to be honest i hate doing the packets and wanted to know if its possible to ask for a reduction in hours so that i would just do the SA so my hours would be 15 per week, the reason i want less hours is because i have started up my own business and it has taken off really well but im not confident enough to go self employed i would like to see a permanent wage coming in each week, and with the current situation with Royal Mail trying to save costs i wondered if now might be the right time to ask, or is 25 hours the least you can do on a permanent contract?
Thanks

Re: hours reduced
No, they have 1 hour contracts so I can't see doing less being a problem in that respect.
It's something you'd need to discuss with your DOM IMO as he might not need that combination of hours as he's still got to get someone to do your other job.

Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

Mate, im sure Royal Mail will lower your hours if thats what you want, when i was there a couple of years ago they were quite fond of 17.5hr contracts?
