what is piss-ng me of is that in the 80's when the tories talked about doing the dirty on us we saw them off only for the goverment which is meant to represent the working class to not only knife us inthe back but to turn the knife as well.
there have been plenty of views expressed on here and other forums about our RELATIONSHIP with the labour goverment but as a former member of the labour party i will never vote for them again,a small gesture i know but i hope our union takes the view that all funding for this crowd of imposters is halted
for the members of the labour party and any tories who are thinking of voting against mandelson's bill we salute them the rest should hang their heads in shame on the death of a once great british institution.

What make's it worse it we are paying them too F*CK US ALL OVER and only a third of the LABOUR party have given thier support too us the other two turds of NEW LABOUR have sh*t on us all!.

Unfortunately for New Labour read Old Tory. Any party who say that they disagree with jobs for the boys (House of Lords, Quangos and Heads of Public Companies) and then proceeds to abuse its power more fervently than the previous administrations (which they said were crooked) deserve nothing but scorn and unemployment.

I emailed Billy Hayes 2 weeks ago about disaffiliating from Labour. Below is my email and his answer

Dear Billy,
As a union member and a deputy rep at my delivery office I would like to urge you to carry out the disaffiliation from Labour ballot as soon as possible. This government is listening to no one and is trying to destroy a fantastic service to the community. As a service, our hearts reach out to the public and we will always continue to give 110% for them but if this privatisation comes through then it will be destroyed. Profit will win over service every time in this Labour controlled UK. I realise that it will be sad that it has to come to this but if the end result sees us being triumphant against Gordon Brown, Darling, Mandy and the rest of the Blackadder wannabes then now is the time. I urge you to put the vote to the members now so that we can be ready to disaffiliate as soon as possible.

the irony is that there is allegedly - more than a grain of truth in that satire , a born Union Beaurocrat and old school tub - thumper & Labourite but it's just like some of the RM managers , basically over promoted due to the Peter Principle .

People from other Unions say the CWU rank & file are very demanding and he has a difficult job at a obviously difficult time but the wrong person is the GS . They also find him to be embarrassingly stereotypical - RM & New Labour Ministers must love it .

This is exactly how I feel. But, and its a big but, those fees are worth it if management come down on us, as I believe they will, from April when the grievance laws change. So I know it would be a great protest if thousands of us stopped paying. But see it as a kind of insurance policy. If you are taken down the disciplinary route at least the union will work for you for once.

Yes, but there is nothing to stop people defending themselves, you can bumff up on all the relevant company
and legal issues, and defend yourself quite well. or save up what you would pay in union fees, and see a specalist
lawyer. And. no, we should not have to even think of doing this, but THIS union is NOT fairly representing us. I have often though that some of the fees paid, should go to your shop floor reps (The good ones of course!) It is a time consuming job, and quite often costs a lot of personal money. However, they ARE at the grass roots level, and should be able to
fight on a day to day basis,if the Unions are allowing the job to become fractured, with local, rather than national
policies being allowed to filter through, then that should be the case with the Unions.
