DRIVING ALLOWANCE

I TRANSFERED TO A RURAL OFFICE FIVE YEARS AGO AN STILL GET MY 600 ALLOWANCE BUT ONLY DRIVE A COMBO.MY OLD UNION REP PHONED ME TO SAY THAT MANAGEMENT WERE LOOKING AT RECOUPING THE ALLOWANCES OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN OVERPAID.FOR ME IT WORKS OUT AT A FEW GRAND.I HAVE BEEN TOLD MY NAME HAS BEEN SEEN ON THE LIST BUT IM STILL GETTING PAID 600.WHATS THE STORY WITH THIS ONE.

Tell them they can have £1 a week Have they not heard theres a recession

If you've been overpaid then you will have to pay it back RM aren't allowed to take money off you without your agreement so as johnnyp says offer them £1/week to pay it off.

Section 13 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 states that "an employer shall not make a deduction from wages of a worker employed by him unless the deduction is required or authorised by virtue of a statutory provision or the worker has previously signified in writing his agreement or consent to the making of the deduction".

And use the above if they start threatening you.
