We've been well and truely shafted
Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Alan Leighton, Adam Crozier and now Mandelson have all fu**ed the Royal Mail. Changing the name to Consignia ffs, how much did that cost only then to change it back. All this agreed by the then trade secretary Stephen Byers on behalf of the government. Not paying into the pension fund for 18 years whilst we all did. Letting in competition but let them do what they want but start up postcomm to fine us whenever they felt like it. Improve the service by not starting deliveries until 9.30 - 10am (this was the time most deliveries were finished in the good old days) and finish them about 3pm - 4pm (great for small businesses that eh?). Even if deliveries are ready to go out they are made to hang around till a certain time (whose barmy idea was that :cfo ). Paying managers (basically failed postmen/women) a ridiculous yearly wage for doing nothing. The office runs itself without these useless tossers getting in the way. Bring back the PHG and let them do it for an extra £10-£15 a day. We had 5 of them today in our smallish office. How many other offices is this happening in and how much is this costing Royal Mail. And finally the government let a twat like mandelson who isnt even elected make decisions like he has done. He is messing with the jobs, pensions and lives of over 400,000 people.

I wish someone decide to sue Royal Mail and Government to repay 6 billions pounds for 18 years pension holiday. Then our pension will be fine.

Re: We've been well and truely shafted
Once again, I have to object to the "all managers are cr*p" attitude.
Not ALL of them are. Just, it seems, the majority. They're not all failed postmen/women, some have come from other roles or outside the business.
However, I do think that things are going slowly (or not) downhill and completely agree regarding the competition being given an unfair advantage. That's always riled me that has. But hey, at least we don't pay VAT!

Re: We've been well and truely shafted
I have gone on and on about this and your comments are spot on.
But this is a different world to the one I know.
We are making money (well we must be because Crozier takes £3 million in bonuses). Yes Mandelson says we are bankrupt???
Banks are losing money £24 billion here £11 billion there and Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling bail them out with trillions of pounds. But then asks the bosses to repay their pensions. But hasn t Alistair Darling just presided over the worst economic performance in history?? And then just spent £70,000 of taxpayers money at John Lewis doing up his second home??? And what about Jacqui-Smith---- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... claim.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is basic theft nothing more nothing less. A company like Royal Mail should be praising its workers for putting up with such shitty management and still pulling in profits. We are the least of the country's worries yet Mandelson has to make his job worthwhile. Come on CWU where the f**k are you ???? :mfo
Me thinks there is revolution in the air.................

Re: We've been well and truely shafted
I never actually said all managers were crap. They are a waste of money though. Any experienced postman/woman could do 90% of the jobs they do and would probably get more respect from fellow workers than present managers. To be honest i think they have more to worry about if TNT do take a stake in us. Dont think they have managers like we do so its goodbye to alot of them.Aprilaydee wrote:Once again, I have to object to the "all managers are cr*p" attitude.

Re: We've been well and truely shafted
i dont like to see anyone lose their jobs but I hear on the grapevine that there could be serious job losses for these overpaid (mostly)tossers in the next part of modernisation.
Slider tool. Lol.
