Will there or should there be a ballot for National Strike?

Will there or should there be a ballot for National Strike over the plans to part-privatise the Royal Mail. I believe an all-out strike Nationwide is something that has to be done now.

No early starts
No unpaid Late finishes.
Bag weights as per guidance.
No short cuts over walls and gardens
Strict Adherence to H&S rules and guidance.
20% D2Ds only per day
No checking the next DP mail whilst walking

It will be painful and hard for anyone going down this path but who said anything worth standing up for would be easy.

Local rep should have your details and he should also keep an up to date list of members for the branch to forward to the National offices. At least thats how I think it works.

Ask him for your number at the same time as giving him your new address.

I already do that so what else can I do

Start doing splits at 14:15. Prep up for 2 hours, ask to be conveyed out and have bags meets and picked up at 17:00 to finish at 17:15. 3 hours docket for about 1/10th of a walk! Then you have guaranteed docket for next day. No gaffers sneaking home at 11:00am anymore.

well someone did as my union mail changed to my new address when i moved

It's the CWU Branch Organiser's job to notify CWU HQ of members address changes.
You should tell him/her, or get your Rep to tell the Branch Organiser.

On the subject of a ballot for strike action against privatisation, it would be unlawful
under the Tory Anti-Union Laws to take strike action for a 'political' objective and RM
would go to the Courts for an injunction to prevent the CWU ballotting on this.
