A few of the lads in my DO have bought extra A\L but have been pulled into the office by dom to be told that the leave has not been deducted from their wages, a ballsup by a previous dom.
now the current dom has no record of how much is owed and the staff can't be certain and TBH you aint gonna pay more back than you owe!
Now the current dom has started taking holidays for this year off individuals who he know's owe RM..
Can he do this without even knowing what people owe...all the staff are willing to pay the money back But at a reasonable rate only when they work out what the actually owe.....
Any help on this matter would be welcome!

Well I doubt he can take back more (and leave you less than the) 4.5 weeks allowed by law.
A ballsup should be treated as such and not the fault of the posties. The most he should be able to do is claw back the money slowley.

Yeh but my point is, they cannot even work out what is owed and they are clawing back without asking!
SO he is taking A\L of people before finding out what they owe...Cannot be right in my opinion

Contact your union rep (local or area) as yes, they cant.
No paperwork, no proof, no clawback imho.

Hello tell the dom to prove how much time he has to claw back (as you know he can't), and until he can prove it people who have booked leave should have their leave honoured. If he ever fines out what is owed, then and only then should you work out ways to repay it. Sounds like dom is taking the law into his own hands.

The manager must prove that there was a problem and the extent of the problem. It should also be the employee who decides if he wants to give holidays back or pay money back thats owed. The employee can then negoitiate his repayments but the manager is trying his mit a little stand up to him, he will probably crumble

THE LAD WHO GOT HIS HOLIDAYS TOOK OFF HIM HAS GOT THEM BACK TODAY!
After my thoughts where reinforced by posters on this board, I had a word with the lad in question and told him dom had no right taking them so another Dom gave him them back...
RESULT.
