accident on duty

i had an accident on duty and reported it within the 24 hour limit. i was reluctant to take time off work as i had just been issued with a stage one warning (my previous good attendance record being ignored). i went into work and asked for light duties. the next day i went to the doctor and he gave me a sick note for 2 weeks. i telephoned my manager and offered to carry on with light duties which i did for two days. the third working day no light duties were offered and i had to do my walk and by the end of it i was in extreme pain. i was due to go on my winter weeks holidays so i requested a few days holiday in the lead up to it (i had extra days due to me) but this was refused.
i was forced to get the doctor in the next day and take him up on the sick note.
the area rep says this event shouldnt trigger a stage two as it was an AOD but im not so sure.
was it the managers responsibility to inform me of this fact and insist that i was unfit for duty due to having a doctors certificate or does the onus lie with the individual.
also are you entitled to claim any fees back for private physio treatment?

to many members rush back to work after an AOD, not havin a pop but i hope you learnt a valuable lesson they get you back to work, give you light duties for a day or so then kick you out on your walk again. never go back till your fully fit. i was off on the sick and got rm to pay for my physio treatment. as for getting the stage 2 no way can they give you it but we all know how ruthless rm are. im sure your rep will help get you off with it.

thanks for your replies........... in order to get back to work i have went private for my physio and been told its a management decision if i get recompensed. dont think this is fair as i would have been off a lot longer waiting for them to start the physio. its only my fourth week off and already had a meeting with line manager and one today with the manager above him.......... talk about harrassment to get back to work. you would think i wanted to be off.

If not could you do so and also get it registered with the DWP.
