Redeliveries, that still aren't in!

i also write on the P739's that they must collect if they are not in for a redelivery

I particularly hate it when the people you re-deliver to phone in and say they never heard you at the door, when you know you have almost kicked the blasted thing in.!

Apparently there is no limit on the amount of times we can re-deliver.
Obviously after the time frame for sending them back comes then we can send them back.

No there is no limit but I think it was asked once in Courier whether RM would set a maximum number of times as surely it's not cost effective to attempt redelivery about 20 times is it?!

It really pees me off when I answer the phone and have to listen to someone asking for redelivery because they were in the first time and the postman didn't knock. I tell them it's more hassle for them to bring it back than it is to get rid of it so why would they not knock? Then they fess up that the doorbell isn't working or they did pop out.

Only problem is then, there's no proof you went back.

I had one guy kicking off saying we didn't redeliver something when we did but they guy didn't leave another docket saying "2ND ATTEMPT" (which we usually write as a sarcastic hint that they'd better not ask again). I had to practically give a statement to my manager confirming that my colleague had put it out for redelivery and that I accepted it back again afterwards cos this guy was kicking off big time.

yup i leave a P739 marked 2nd attempt for the very same reason

At the end of the day if i'm told to re-deliver I just do it how ever many times it is. Yes it not cost effective but it the RM way let them worry about it.

Are you sure that they've asked for the redilivery?

I'm fairly certain that our callers office, in order to make space, regularly puts out a batch of items for redilivery, in the hope that it'll go this 'time'. It's often noticeable when the same item is redeployed three times in one week even though the occupants are in the middle of a month long holiday and the 739 is seen still on the floor behind their door!

When they are clearing space we are told not to card again and it is then returned to sender if not collected 7 days after.

I hate those customers who keep ordering load of cube type packets and often are not in. If you order the goods make sure it is easy for us to deliver.

Everyday this week I've had DVD's for a house that has one of those stupid vertical letterboxes that you can't fit anything through and everyday no ones been home

I attempt redeliveries twice, then it stays in Callers.
