Not paid for regular OT

Hi, what can someone do (apart from cutting off) if they are not being paid for the OT they are doing? This guys lm is telling him he's too slow so he's getting no OT payment even when 1hr over.

Also If he is tested and found to actually be too slow and he can't speed up can they then sack him or can he insist on going along as he has been i.e. completing round with no OT.

what age is he, how long has he been working for rm. has he a disability is it a new route hes doing. has he ever been tested on his round.

He's probablly 55, long-term employee, it is a new pegasus route which he hasn't been tested on. he was paid OT for a few months but then it was stopped.

get him to stick in a grievance straight away. tell him before he goes out on his walk to tell the dum he wont finish on time and is not working for SFA. and what instuction is the dum giving him. make sure his rep is there with him.
had this problem in my office and got it resolved so keep me posted if i can help i will.

is Pegasus agreed if yes by who.

Everyday he sould tell his DOM/LM that he can't complete and if they want to test him then let them (I've known people to constantly book OT and have then been retrained only to end up with vans/parts off their duty).

Don't let them intimidate you/others, just stick to their rules and let them hang themselves (especially in these times).

So what happens if the dom does everything to get him out say 40mins early every day to complete is this allowed? so out on delivery 4hrs or more.

delivery's are 3,1/2 hours max so why would anyone do a 4 hour or more delivery span. unless they are... no forget it i wont say it.

Thanks for the replies, he's not in union. I'll let him know what he should be doing which looks like working to his hours and not doing the OT/completing. Not sure if dom is aware but lm has told him straight he's too slow! I thought there had to be a proceedure gone through to establish that! Then retraining should be offered? Then more testing? Encouragement etc. Nowhere have I seen it mentioned that OT payment should be withdrawn. Will keep you informed, not all rounds in office are pegasus but quite a few that are have come out too big.

It might be worth suggesting that he joins the Union. After all, there's strength in numbers.

could also be why the dum is having a pop at him. get the rep to sign him up and anyone else not in the union.

Been there done that. He needs to get in the union. I don't agree with striking hence did not join union after a while that became a secondary issue as i felt was being put upon and having to fight case for every little issue alone. Now in union, still don't agree on striking but life is so much easier as our rep is always willing to taking on our DOM on our behalf. Ifv we all stand together and do the job properly life will be so much better for us all (well maybe not Rm buts that there prob)..

The only reason I'm in the union is for times such as this when you need the ability to make your problems climb the chain. Trying to get anything done without the unions sounds like a mammoth task, after all why would RM listen to you?

Now I'm in union not a chance I'd cross a picket line, whether agreeing or not if we don't stand together what's the point!
