grandfather rights

i was wondering???
when a re sign happens do we lose grandfather rights on our early morning shift allowance, as we were told at the time (part of pay and modernisation) we would keep it as long as we didnt change duty.

We was told that as long as you stay on a duty that was entitled to a early shift allowance you would retain it, but if you swapped to a duty that did not i.e was a 6am start before the times were changed then you would lose it.

If someone is changed from a 6.30 start to a 5.30 start should they be entitled to an allowance?

I think the issue of grandfather rights shows the need for pay simplification with a decent rise.

Pay is just getting too complex with all these grandfather rights and allowances and could well deter people from ditching a duty they dont want to continue with and switching to something better.

when they moved us 2 the 6 am start we were told those with the early morning allowance would keep it (grandfather rights) unless they changed duty/job (ambiguous)?? and new entrants wouldnt get it. so my problem is under a pegasus review with a re sign the powers that be could effectively give us more work for less pay.

We had the same worry,but we were assured that as long as we didn't pick a duty that didn't qualify for early shift allowance( there were only two FT duties in the office, like that neither of which would have been in the repick any way) we would keep our early shift allowance.
