How long should/does it take to hear the result of an appeal against being sacked?
I know some one whos been waiting a month now,is that the norm?

One in my office has been waiting 9 months and there is still no movement on the appeal.

Spoke to our Area Rep today as it goes and mentioned this to him,he said that hes got some going back to October and there is a backlog as they have been getting rid of so many bods,im pissed because its his first RTU and hes been sacked.

Thats great news for your colleague
The trouble with my colleague is that he wants to get a job as hes a kid to feed and dress,all this waiting about is not helping him at all.The only money hes got coming in is the dole.
