Training

Just done repick and next will be the training issues, just need to establish wants the criteria for training, To the best of my knowledge its 3 days for a rural and 1 day for a town round, but managers are telling me that town rounds need no training unless its businesses, in a nutshell!
Can someone clarify this please as my opinion on this is the appropiate training should be given regardless

What's training You should count yourself lucky that your not just given a map printed off Google and told to get on with it

Always managed to get 3 days on rural and 1 on town...after a f****g fight...

One days training? I suppose if you know the area that might be enough, but I'd get lost. I got 2 days and was still walking around looking at street names. Three would be better, but no one gets that round here.

We've always got two days for rural and town. I think that should be a minimum.

We always get training on the grounds of H & S.

Been put on a rural with no training before now. Never any training on town deliveries. I am an experienced postal worker I am told, get on with it. I just say that if I can't find anywhere within reason or I go over, it comes back to the office. They just shrug their shoulders. I remember getting one weeks training on rurals when I joined. Reading between the lines, quality has just gone. Its just get it done as cheap and as fast as possible. POOP!!!

At our place if you're on a new round you get 3 days off the IPS to familarise ourselves with the frame,and that's it.

Unless you are a new entrant i dont think there are any guideines on this.It could be a case of youve been in the job long enough so you should be able to handle a new frame and walk pretty quick.Reserves are on different duties every week and they just have to get on with it.When we had our last re-sign most of us had a bit more on our walks,1 or 2 had new walks,we just got on with it,a couple of the boys protracted or cut off but your all ways gonna have that.

Same in our office,you only have to mention the T word and our DIM goes white and starts frothing at the mouth it just don't happen you get a map of goggle and of you go.

We are having this problem at the moment. They will not train staff on a town walk and want to print off a map. I have written to the cluster manager regarding this. I mentioned that RM will not ask anyone to do something that they havent been trained to do or if there is a drop in quality. I feel that both of these points are valid and am looking to get any answer in writing.

whats your work place coach used for are they not supposed to train people
of course question i would ask who trains them not mgmt
rem they get extra payments and ours just end up doing their own jobs anyway

Work place coaches are for new starts only I thought.
