No weekly resource meetings ???

Post by islfor »

The manager tries to dodge our weekly resource meetings, because he knows f**k all about the job to be honest, it really pisses me off when he puts the duties up on thursday after we have all gone out on delivery and he goes home before we return and then he takes a day off on friday, by saturday the staff are going mental after the crap he's allocated them.
Can anyone suggest a way of him not delibrately fobbing me off on weds or thurs, I have a massive agenda to work from after downloading it from this site :Very Happy
but he's clueless when I discuss anything.......he's such a slap dash manager just like when he was a postman.
HELP....advice needed ?

Well I'm not a rep but the advice I would give you is put all the issues you feel need addressing in a letter to your DOM including the fact that many of the issues could be addressed at the weekly resource meeting if he ever found time to hold one and then send a copy to the SOM or the cluster manager and the Div Rep and see if that brings the rats out of the woodwork. There is also the WTL of course where you can ask questions which you need an answer to - not that you're liable to get one but there is no harm in asking. Oh - and put a copy on your union notice board, the members will see that you are at least attempting to do something - unlike some reps who either can't be bothered to get involved or get involved and don't tell anyone.

Sssshh Big Daz don't tell him that or he will go off on one. Anyway he's probably watching old re-runs of the Harlem Globetrotters glory days.

if dvb's way doesn't work why not try using the Pay and Modernisation agreement, specificaly, Phase 2 enabling local flexibility.

Enablers
The following enablers have been agreed nationally and will be deployed in each unit, to meet the above objectives. Discussion and agreement between Royal Mail and CWU representatives will take place to ensure safe, fair and sensible implementation of these taking into account local circumstances and the application where relevant of the MTSF agreement. This will be achieved in line with our agreed IR procedures, weekly resourcing meetings and the fresh approach described in the introduction to this agreement. There will be provision for review of the agreed local plans on a regular basis.

this commits them to weekly resourcing meeting, don't let him get away with it.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP
