What should the CWU spend its money on and how much money should be spent on those things.
What can be done to ensure value for money for things such as booking the venue for annual conference or the hotels CWU reps from all across the country stay in at conference.
Is the Elstead worth keeping/needed? Should it be sold off
Should all CWU members regardless of membership type pay the same rate of CWU subs?
Whose money is it any way? The organasation known as CWU or those that belong to the CWU?

CWU expenditure and income
Who gives a toss ,lets start with no negotiating away our terms and conditions, everything else is a luxury/window dressing.
If my wages go up, and my pension improves and the ware and tear
on my knees decreases ,then they can spend the money on fine chocolate sex toys and I would view it as money well spent

let them spent it on education for the reps.. let them spend it on fighting royal mail in the courts for all the members who have suffered at the hands of the bullying managers..ect ect-- not enough is spent on that. why is it that the money is spend on the dearest hotels for some in the cwu whats wrong with the cheaper hotels. is the cheap hotels not good enough for some. whats wrong with burger king or mc d's..the odd time.
you cant ask the part time worker to pay the full rate, thats a bit like royal mail asking the part time workers to do the same jobs as the full timers and maybe more hours and pay them less
are all those who work at hq in the cwu... do they pay subs??
to many are on the gravy train spending cwu members money as they like. time to derail the train.

I wonder if the law of the land classes it as members money?
Income from the elstead is not members money is it as it dosent come from members.
Prrsumably CWU top brass will be staying at the Elstead next year as Conference is back in Bournemouth and if they are they have just saved a bucket load of money unless of course some silly taxation law or something like that compels CWU to pay as if it was a normal hotel and not one they own.

You seem to have forgotten Im just a rank and file local IR rep that dabbles in politics on the side, your asking the wrong person.
Elstead came under the CWU wing before I was with RML in fact I was just a school boy so my subs played no part in bringing the elstead into cwu ownership I know nothing of the history of the elstead.
Define those at HQ officers of the union I presume rather than staff? The answer I havent a clue.
Ask somebody far higher up than me.

well maybe the elstead was paid for by the memberships money? so it belongs to the membership. where do all the profits go to. what about the rank and file membership staying there for conference at a reduced rate.Big Daz wrote:You seem to have forgotten Im just a rank and file local IR rep that dabbles in politics on the side, your asking the wrong person.
