Holiday Entitlement

Hi I just read in the news that the law is changing and that from 1st April 2009 we are all entitled to 5.6 weeks annual leave. Today i just handed in a form requesting my leave be made up to 6 weeks from 4 and a half weeks at the cost of 3%. This is something I do every year, what should i do as i will be quite happy with 5.6 weeks leave?

Do not get too excited the 5.6 weeks includes all bank holidays and they do not have to give it back in lieu if its your normal day off or an already booked holiday. In essence its not as good as it sounds.

Thanks T.B.T and congratulation's on your 12000 post. As you say it is not as good as it sound's but we in our office cannot get the day's week's we need/want it is far from a small office!. And from next year we have been told there will be an eight year plan of rotating yearly shift's as it was said god help us all!.

You can be on a fixed shift (late's) or a rotating one with (late's) (night's) or year's ago (early)!. But the one i am talking about is a holiday plan (shift) which every eight year's will rotate so eight (shift's) which you have to take your holiday entitlement.

Its up to royal mail to decide whither to include public holidays in the minimum allowed leave, 2 chances of getting more leave.
