The whole thing stinks, my wages must be somewhere, I have bank statements that prove nothing has gone in or gone out of my account which surely proves that RM have not paid me??

Ring the legal section at the CWU - if they are saying they have paid you then they must have a copy of the transaction - the legal department can ring them - though it is too late for this week - it should be your managers priority Monday morning to sort this out and arrange a cheque in the interim - in the event that it does turn up they can have the money back.

Rather than try and get some disinterested CWU phone-answerer to try and sort out your personal problems, ring wages back and insist they put a trace on your money to see where it's gone.
Chances are that due to a digit transposition by someone your money is sitting in a financial limbo; RM consider it paid, but your account says it never received it.

Don't get into a panic over it though, it's a common occurrence and RM can and should offer an emergency advance on your wages to tide you over.
