PRE-DETERMINED WILLFULL DELAY?

Geo-route starts in january,and it decided that i need another 100+delivery points to go onto my current duty which i have allways pledged is up to time thought i would just have a friendly word with my DOM stating this point and that i felt i could not deal with the extra,nothing has been taken off my duty just extra put on,they know the time i go out and get back,which is to time he said because i was having this conversation with him it would be noted that this was seen as pre- determined willfull delay,it is bieng trialed for a few weeks and i have to be seen to be making an effort.
The 100 del points = 2 hours extra over my contracted time,i am full time,i told him that i was only obligated to work my contractual hours trial or not and was entitled to finish on time.Any accurate comments welcome,we have a union rep but too new to be knowledgeable,cannot find any info on contracts of employment.

One word BULLSHIT he is trying to intimidate you go see your union rep and if he does not know he should get the branch rep or even area rep!. You have done the right thing in informing them you may not be able to complete this duty in the time alloted to you. The ball is in their court keep telling them this and have a witness to your conversation with any of them note time's and important detail's of their action's and insinuation's!. They can not make you work past your contracted hours, they can ask you to work 30 mins past your time, but it is voluntary and if you do, they have to give you the 30 mins back in the same week, I would go in tomorrow and ask your manager if he remembers the conversation you had yesterday, if he says yes, then ask him to put it in writing that because you have raised concerns about the extra work he is saying that this is pre-determined wilful delay, if he believes what he says he will do it, but I doubt it very much

It's apparent from your post you have informed you dim dim dom about your reservations over the extra work so if anyone is guilty of pre-determined willful delay he is but cover your backside as these creeps will try all ways to get you to take extra out get everything in writing so he can't backtrack and crawl his way out as these creeps do

I must admit that is the first time I have heard the expression "pre determined" wilful delay - it is quite creative of that particular DOM. Total crap of course but it does have that sort of ring to it - it may even become part of RM speak.

. If you kick'em hard enough in the nut's they can tell your future but i can tell you that on here!. Ps don't do it you will not have a future in royalmail if you did do it ( kick'em in the nut's) just bide your time and inform them politely as time is a precious commodity which we all have no control over and the clock is ticking as we speek!.

Ahhhhh - George Orwell was right - the thought police are here. Is your pre determined wilful delay conflicting with a well earned pre determined pint at your local, or some pre determined food shopping or God forbid a pre determined rest in the afternoon after yet another crap day dealing with pre determined staff cuts and pre determined falling mail volumes ????????????????????

What a load of shite - do your best - work to your time and show that the plan doesn't work. If you give them anything for free they will expect it all the time.

unfortunately geo-route is or would fulfill the requirement for a full office resign.
It is aguably a managerial driven change as defined in The Way Forward (TWF) and would, as such throw up the full resign.
With regards to pre determined willfull delay can you hear that alarm going off...................... its a muppet alert.

if your lino has approached you on a heavy day and asked you and many others if you thought you would complete and you said no, like many others had done on this particular day in question, is your lino pre determining pre determined willfull delay. Secondly if your lino ask yourself and many others this why are they doing it, is it because they believe you may not be able to complete the task ahead ? would they then be guilty of numerous counts of pre-determined pre-determined willfull delay.

The solution is simple.
Dont tell anyone you don't think you can do it in time, just bring back what you can't deliver.
If you are asked just say YES I WILL DO IT ALL in your best (James Mason/Larry Olivier), and bring back what you can't do, if asked say "i was wrong, good bye".

Well johnnyp you would be the only one, even the managers breathe a sigh of relief when I'm on holiday. Not long ago my name disappeared from the signing on sheet - I was hoping there was a financial consideration on the way - no such luck - one wag of a manager said he thought I'd already retired - he hasn't been repaid yet - but he will be. Unfortunately it wasn't the one I'd pointed out as a dwarf on an advert for the visit of the Xmas circus, he is vertically challenged though - he found it mildly amusing, eventually.

This is the trouble at the moment everyones so fecking miserable in this job

Alot of the old school have gone at my place and they were so funny it was a joy to go in,we still have the odd one or two who make the day bearable but most of them are moaning all the fecking time
