Are the 22 hours per person or are they for everyone together, in my office everything is an ad-hoc basis ie. if you need the OT then you get it.

22 hours for the whole office (or for delivery service only) is useless assuming your Christmas pressure period commences on December 7th.

22 hours per full time equivalent member of delivery staff for the same period is a realistic assessment of the additional workload.

As far as I am aware the amount allocated to an office is claimable at SA rate by all staff affected and is included in budgeting to acknowledge the change in traffic. It is still, no matter what you are told, NOT compulsory overtime but if you claim it you must do it.

All pre-scheduled o/t is paid at s/a rate
whether or not its good is up to you, but what you've described is overtime that has been pre agreed therefore has been pre-scheduled so should be paid at s/a rate and not pressure rate.

Its more then what my office is getting .We have an area agreement that covers 20 DOs and gives each person in there unit 15 hours pressure starting on the 8th untill 23rd: I myself have chose to opt out along with 5 others which could rise when people return from Rest days and A/L.

hi jonnyp, would you be able to answer whether the whole page you kindly supplied relating to the way forward agreement (11 hour rule topic), applies to Xmas pressure agreements, the topic made regarding working Sundays over Xmas and any PDC work given to delivery offices that are fortunate to recieve such work, as i am rather confused on what should be and what is being ignored... ...

This was mentioned at our branch meeting,how would we get around the 9 hour rule(work time directive)as management were going to enforce it over the xmas pressure period.The phrase Paper Exercise was used to get around the problem,and i also heard that someone spotted a flaw or get out clause in the agreement that would enable us to get round it, i will try and find out what it was.

Well you're just bloody lazy - it is Xmas after all - show a little commitment for Gods sake - I, myself, personally will be going in at 3 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. of course I will be leaving at 8 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. if I can get away with it.

Chrimbo only lasts for 13 hrs in our office but strangely enough it lasts for 28 in our local MC
