I do know that the Royal Mail Staff Canteen at 21 Campbell Street, Leicester LE1 1AA got the following after being inspected on 13th May 2008:

Summary of Inspection Findings
Standards of food hygiene were good. Procedures were in place to control potential
hazards. Stock control was good and both hot and chilled food temperatures were being
monitored. The food handler was wearing clean protective clothing and demonstrated
good personal hygiene.
The premises was clean and tidy. Some additional cleaning was required to the fridge and
freezer door seals. One fridge seal was split and needs replacing. The premises was in
good repair and all necessary facilities were provided.
There was a documented food safety system in place and appropriate records were
being kept. The food handler has received food hygiene training. The premises has a good
track record.
Inspector: David Howard

One of those catered services you and I don't have. Manned by people not machines like you and I buy from - and I don't mean those machines in the Gents toilets.

Royal Mail Staff Canteen at 21 Campbell Street should be proud of themselves if all that was said was some additional cleaning was required to the fridge and freezer door seals and One fridge seal was split and needed replacing. (The EHO writes those kind of things for mostly something to write down to show they have been there (although of course it should be acted on!) But well done to the canteen Staff at 21 Campbell Street for a hard job well done! :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

Meanwhile the Royal Mail Staff Canteen at Leicester North DO, 91 Loughborough Road, Leicester LE4 5LL got the following after being inspected on 3rd April 2008:

Summary of Inspection Findings
Standards at the premises were generally good. Food was being handled in a safe and
hygienic manner. Temperature control was also generally good. The cook wears
protective clothing when handling food.
The standard of cleaning was generally satisfactory. Although, several minor cleaning
issues were noted. The premises were being maintained in good repair.
There was a documented food safety management system in place. However, it was not
fully implemented. Hot and cold food temperatures were not being checked or recorded.
Food hygiene training needed refreshing.
Inspector: Andrew Woods

Mmm hot and cold food temps were not being checked or recorded and food hygiene training needs refreshing :no no :no no :no no

Please note that in Scotland food requires to be reheated to a minimum temperature of 82°C).
