My understanding is, there was an agreement reached between the CWU and Royal Mail on the replacement of full-time jobs with part-time ones, which came out a disagreement I think in Stoke? If anyone as any info on the agreement please let me know.brothermagrew wrote:A new one on me but please tell us moregeopip wrote:Anyone got a copy of the "Stoke Agreement"?

Anything to do with Burslem and strikes ? & the now mandatory independent IR reviews - everytime RM use the Aerial Sharon school of IR to systematically soften up offices with a strong , well organized union .geopip wrote:My understanding is, there was an agreement reached between the CWU and Royal Mail on the replacement of full-time jobs with part-time ones, which came out a disagreement I think in Stoke? MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The stoke agreement is the fact that there has to be disucssion via the IR framework about the filling of vacancies. It came out of a stage 3 disagreement in stoke hence the name. It means management have to engage the local rep about the filling of vancancies including whether it should be filled by a full timer or a part timer.

I remember it now.Royal Mail bosses in North & Mid Staffordshire have attempted to replace full time jobs with part time ones. But, after 6 days of strike action by 700 posties across 11 depots, managers have been forced to back down. Despite continuous intimidation by management, posties at the Burslem depot have been at the forefront of this fight to defend jobs, pay and conditions.
