Union Help Please as Rep is K Rap

In our office we have a bloke on a one hour contract. He gets in at about 8am and because he has been asked not to do the prepping anymore he now taes 4 hours to do a 2 hour round henc he has lost nowt and good luck to him.

The said round is prepped by another postie who already has his own round and he dont get paid for doing the extrat prepping. The reason is cos the DIM says that it is part of the agreement that he can do this. We thought it was only in summer months. We now have a shortage of IPS staff cos this bloke doing the extra prepping is getting out of it cos he is doing the extar prep for free and the DIM has OK'd this.

Our pathetcic CWU rep reckons they can do this all year round not just the summer months

Where can I find a copy of the agreemnet to see what is right and wrong please guys n gals?

paul_skinback your rep is right.In the Pay and Mod deal are a set of Enablers and one of those is doing other work within your office,this is what your manager is doing

the bit you refer to in the summer is Efficent Summer Staffing which should only take place i believe during the lighter summer months period(june-august)where traffic levels should drop off,if they dont then summer staffing should not take place during this time.This is why it is vital all local reps have there weekly resource meetings with there Doms to make sure that they are not pulling strokes.

The only way to fight back is to claim OT or cut off when they take bods of the IPs as you will be later out. It is what we are doing at the moment and while we haven't got him to stop taking them off the IPS, they are being more selective when they do so it doesnt cause us to get out late.
