flexibility , thats a good word when the union signed up to this they left us out to dry, in my office flexibility is one way our manager rips up our dockets if we put in an extension on our delivery guess what he says f word,we are now delivering most of our competitors mail for a fraction of the price guess what f word,we dont weigh our incoming mail anymore why is that ,we are expected to work until we are finished without overtime without a break without the health safety of our jobs we are on our own , rather we put up with it , go on the sick and hope they give u a portion of your redundancy, you speak out and the managers would make your life hell or quit after many years service like a lot of my fellow colleagues have done in the past few years and royal mail is laughing ,wake up i dont normally stand up but we are taking for a ride the only whoes left are people who cant afford to go .so cwu union please stop taking a back seat and do what u are paid and represent get to the front line and sort this mess out or we are better going to a union that cares

I understand members frustrations but I am fed up with posties coming in early to throw off walksort, working through meal break cos there is a lot of mail and when questioned they tell you it is the only way they can finish on time...........THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE DEALT WITH IF THIS TYPE OF MIND SET CONTINUES...... All members are the union and if members are not going to book time when they go over, and continue to take all the shortcuts to get finished, then what are reps supposed to do?? It is no good keep blaming the union when the biggest problem is teararses making sure they finish on time or others that won't book for fear of getting a rollicking for doing things properly......... the union needs all members to support it, but unfortunately there are those that do a lot of moaning and expect others to make the sacrifices!! Now you may not be one of these, but if you are not then you will understand exactly what I mean.

Aint quite sure i get you here its up to the members to do the job properly not the CWU HQ to hold our hands and do it for us. We have all been told for quite a few years about it and now its here its up to us to make the best of it after all as sh*t as it was WE as members voted it in.
So here is what i and a fast growing number of posties up and down the UK do and what you and your mates should do!
1/ DO NOT COME IN EARLY!
2/ TAKE YOUR MEAL RELIEF!
3/ DO NOT LEAVE YOUR OFFICE TILL FOUR HOURS BEFORE YOUR SHIFT ENDS!
4/ TAKE A WITNESS WHEN YOU TELL A LINO YOU CANT COMPLETE IN THE TIME LEFT AND ASK WHAT THEY WISH TO DO WITH THE MAIL LEFT OVER.
5/ IF THEY WANT YOU TO COMPLETE AGREE OVERTIME WITH PAY ONLY IF YOU WANT TO DO IT!
6/ IF YOU DONT TELL THEM YOU ARE CUTTING OFF.
As for another Union that cares more i am afraid you dont have much chance of that BECAUSE WE ARE THE UNION!
if you look on RMC you will find threads covering most all of your post in far more detail. Good Luck.
