purple trousers?!!

Has anyone else had this problem please!! - cause no one else in our office seems to have this issue. My colleagues say it must be my washing powder or Me!!!

I always press my trousers (and to be honest I don't think all the guys do) - but why should this make a differance

Appaently the newer (single pleated) trousers don't do it (is that true) - but I find the size and cut of the slightly older ones more comfortable.

I am sure this could not be a quality issue................never with RM!!!

Hmmmmmmmm purple trousers - no I am not going to make any suggestion about, lederhosen, sandals and the trap door club, although purple is only a shade or two darker than lilac..............

I was given two pairs of trousers a year ago, washed and ironed both the same, one pair are purple, one pair have stayed blue-ish.

I'm just about to ring as my first year is up, and order some more. It'll be great not having to wash 3 times a week.

I went to order some new trousers over a week ago as I ripped the leg of one pair on the van and the zip knackered on the other pair, I was told as I ordered 2 pairs last March that I could'nt have any more, apparently 2 pairs of trousers are meant to last you 2 years. I told one of managers I would be wearing jeans as I've no more trousers he authorised 2 new pairs straight away. I've still got my old trousers with the red piping on the pockets, which were made to last unfortunately they don't fit anymore

TWO YEARS??

I was gobsmacked when I started that I only got two pair. It means washing virtually every day. You get five shirts, why not five pair of trousers?

They were happy to give me new boots after 6 months, but not trousers.

I'll look like Robinson Crusoe soon.

THE WRONG TROUSERS dont worry purple at least looks better than T.N.T orange.

I think ? it's something to do with the cotton part of the trousers having indigo dye to put a tint on the trousers - they used / probably still do it with jeans - that indigo part will fade giving a purple look .

Purple is red and blue mixed together so the orange on some people's trousers sounds like the blue bit firstly fading away then the red bit being bleached out by whatever is in the powder / liquid and turning to orange

Apparently cheap jeans used to be dyed as a whole thing - so the cheap jeans off the market ended up with patchy colour - a quality US make like Levi used to predye the yarns of cotton - that might explain ? why some things keep their colour better

Black T - Shirts from Marks & Sparks used to have a deeper black , they tended to stay black whilst the cheap T - shirts turned to charcoal or dirty grey - obviously M&S are fussy about quality .

Sounds if RM and/or the uniform supplier have been cutting corners ( well I never ! ) - there is also the white strip lighting that RM use , some of the stormproofs used to have a pink tint under those lights

The Red stripe trousers were apparently made of Gaberdine , probably to match the jacket , I think ? the stripe idea was to stop people wearing them on their days off and being seen in pubs .

I worked in a Industry that had a p***y culture - which was then stamped on from a very great height - you'd look a bit conspicuous off duty in the pub with purple trousers , red shirts and green jacket etc type uniform
