Being a trialist i was told that i would be up for a first stage warning after having 2 days off sick,i have been in the same office for 18months,the first 12 months being a "casual"
i understand that being on trial you are not allowed to go sick .....however my question is

i have been back at work,over one calender month,since i went sick,even though the dim said i would have to go for my 1st stage warning,they still have'nt bothered issue'in it.....is there some rules or regulation's that say they have to issue within a set time......i'm sure there is something on here about it,i did look but could'nt find,so i appologise if it's been done countless times

You can't be up for a stage 1 for two days sick.

You can be up for a stage one for 2 days if you are still on trial, has your trial been extended? even if it has take your rep in with you the very least you should argue is for it to be backdated to about 7 days after you returned to work then you will only be on a warning for about 5 weeks

Correct its 7 days - probbaly why they haven't issued it yet, and to keep you sweet they have not told you it wont be issued - see rep as soon as:

Attendance may be regarded as warranting formal action if an employee who is on trial has:

Stage 1: 2 absences or 7 days in a 6 month period
Stage 2: 1 absence in the next 2 months
Stage 3: 1 absence in the next 2 months
No triallist should have his/her appointment confirmed whilst under this procedure.

STAGES IN THE ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE
The Attendance Procedure consists of 3 stages to which different standards of attendance apply. The stages are progressive and intended to explain the standards that need to be achieved and help employees maintain appropriate attendance patterns thereby avoiding the need for dismissal. All absences up to and including the day of the interview with the manager will be included in the overall review of absence for that stage and will not count towards the next stage of the procedure.

Sorry to bring this up again but is there a time scale that a Stage has to be issued within, I've been back for over 2 months and nothing has been mentioned apart from your Stage 3 has come through, that was 7 weeks ago.

Obviously gaza your correct if it is two separate sickness, but I read the post as one sickness, of two days, hopefully that's the case for two-tried-feet

Ive been back 8 weeks now, after having 4 weeks off sick.

Havent even had a return to work interview yet, never mind word of a stage 1.

Some official clarification on this time scale query would be great.

in our office a postie didnt get his back to work until the 3rd day back he wasnt issued with stage 1 because he was told there was a 48hr rule.

Does this mean that if you've been there a year as a trialist and are on stage 1 they can give you another 6 month contract instead of a permanent one? And how do you get off a stage 1 as a trialist?
