Same here. On remembrance Sunday I will be on parade as well. On Armistice day I will be observing 2 minutes silence wherever I am at 11.00am.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Not me, I'm not interested in that sort of stuff, I don't need to show something to 'remember', I can remember without putting on a show for others. I don't need to go to a place of worship to worship, when that which I worship is all around me and 'hears me'. Also tomorrow, I don't need to burn things in order to 'celebrate' the foiling of an attempt to commit a crime more than 400 years ago.

I wear mine becomes I am proud of what people have given up for others, not because I 'need' to remember.

I also guess you will not be holding your hands out for tips this season then? Or are only certain things worth remembering?

I know this is slightly argumentative, and a little 'off the point' but does that mean that the current generations of the non-warring/losing nations have no principals or rights?

You are very correct on the tips! I will not take any tips at all, and will not bow to the pressure of anyone selfish enough to take offence at me turning down their offer. I get paid to do my job, and do not require additional payment for doing so. (I'll be honest, if I needed extra money, I'd take a better paying job.)

No - everyone has or rather should have that right that's the principle under which most veterans served at least in the UK. Your location, country of origin, gender, politics, religion, wealth, age and any other pertinent label should not affect your right to hold and peacefully voice your own opinions or principles even if diametrically opposed to mine or anyone else's.

To be fair comparing bonfire night to donating to the British Legion is not actually a fair comparison anyway.

Same problem I've lost two this week, they are not good at staying on when your out on delivery, the only good point is that you have to buy another one, so maybe that's a good thing :Very Happy

As for people wearing them that's there choice, but if you value what these poppies symbolize then you should put a couple of quid in the box, we all remember in our own way what has gone on in the past, but unforturnly memories alone, don't help those that need help now :hmmmm
