Not yet. That's Phase 4. But it is happening, it's just a case of how they implement it.

It will probably be linked to the 2009/10 pay rise, you know how the negotiators will fight tooth and nail to protect our rights - and you will be receiving your first monthly pay cheque at the end of April BUT there will be ongoing protestations to the Government, Hooper, RM and MPs will be lobbied again - though I would imagine they will be looking after their image for the election the following year. The majority of people get paid monthly anyway so they aren't going to be bothered about us, in fact they will probably say "be thankful you have a job", because this recession is going to take a mighty chunk out of the workforce.

Yup,think your right on that one,hopefully the union can get Royal mail to gie us £2000 to go to monthly pay,but I wont hold my breath for that.

When we went from being paid cash weekly to our wages being paid into a bank account we got nothing.
RM paid a small amount (£5 IIRCC) for every employee to a charity instead.

As the purpose is to facilitate the implementation of 'banked hours' (and to save on admin costs) I doubt that
opting out would be an option.

I wonder how many of them even knew that Monthly Pay was part of what they were voting for?

As I recall it was a vote that was recommended as the best they could get and how well they had done to remove the pension element from the agreement and the ballot! Some agreement - and the pension ......................

Yep they soon removed the pension didn't they!. Talk about our own union kicking us in the nut's. As far as monthly pay don't worry about it as it's a done deal and we have been done over!. It is about time the membership took the god damm time to look think and act and vote for themself's for without the membership what good is a union!.
