new imposed constitution for n, ireland no1 branch
Who came up with the new name for Northern Ireland No. 1 Branch (Northern Ireland Combined Branch)? What exactly have they combined and when did they consult the membership on this issue?
Is it a case of change the name and we'll forget about the bigotry and paramilitary attacks emanating from this branch, which were the reasons for its suspension by the General Secretary and the NEC?
Where's all the Prods?... It's time for Northern Ireland No. 1 Branch or Northern Ireland Combined Branch ex-committee members to step away from union activities and allow fresh, non-political activists to take over... suspend the lot of them for good and lets start a new era with real democracy, not the phoney paramilitary one we have at present!

Awh c'mon theres always more than one way to get your point over, especially amongst friends.Don't forget none of us are free.Try a different tack, adapt your style,I'm sure you can say all you want without fear of censure. After all your situation does mirror the wider experience of union representationmarky wrote:no point mate god just deletes what we put on here.. says hes bored with it , would rather save the trees and stuff and fight injustice elsewhere but not in his own back yard...

As a Moderator I did not delete the posts referred to but I supported POSTMANS actions. It appeared to name people which was against the rules. It also suggested that certain apparently named or unnamed union personnel had, or were involved in criminal actions.
All of this may have been true but as this Forum is run and paid for out of the pocket of Postman and donations (where has that donate button gone anyway) there is no way he could defend a legal claim from anyone of the individuals concerned. As an ex-serviceman who served over there I probably have more of an understanding, though nowhere near as complete as those that live there, of the frustrations and divides that exist in NI politics, but we still have a responsibility to other members in trying to keep this valuable resource both on-line and out of the courts.
To be frank there are 3 options open to you.
1. As suggested PM anyone who is interested in what you have to say without making changes to your posts.
2. Tone down the posts and pass on the information without the actionable material and in compliance with the rules you agreed to when you joined, and when the forum was relaunched.
3. Start your own Blog and forum and set your own rules.
We are here to support and inform all Royal Mail workers and we cant jeopardize that for just one section, no matter how righteous their cause, this is why we have rules after all, and all we ask is that you follow them.

if only it was for the members, don't forget the membership had to agree to the constitution, not have it imposed on them, or are you forgetting that. to many preach its for the members when in fact its themselves they are looking out for and not the membership.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You obviously cant or don't play the numbers game... Fact is, with a split vote in letters the other will walk into the position, thats why 1 of them needs to withdraw. but you seem to know better..marky wrote:sure you dont mean 2 bad, rotten, bent, look after themselfs apples going to split the vote and the 1 good apple gets in.. as all know who the good apple is in belfast..
