It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yes very interesting - not very encouraging though.
I don't want to sound cynical but the presentation fancied a bit like a new years resolution list - good intentions leading nowhere.
I'd like to see something more positive like the demand for the next pay rise. What worries me a bit is the CWU seems to want to organise the modernisation and mechanisation of the future without much thought being put in to what is physically feasible from a delivery point of view.
Rather like management they are also assuming that those who do can do more ad infinitum and perhaps more to the point feel as though they should be doing it for free - cos I certainly didn't see any mention of a scale of recompense.
