It's not easy having the backbone to cut-off with the intimidation of managers.
You don't have to write a letter.
If and it's a big if, you make time on Mon or Tues use flexibility( if you are on swings and roundabouts)
I.e use time made for the heavier days of the week. But the thing we keep trying to get into people is just WORK YOUR CONTRACTUAL HOURS.
THEY CAN'T TOUCH YOU.
Tell your dum that you have been continually going over and because of commitments you cannot claiM O/T.
As long as you do your job properly, he can't do a thing.
The hardest thing is to get everyone doing it.
tell him before you go out you have a problem and this covers you.
Ask him what he wants, you taking it out and bringing back or left in office.

It looks to me that all the part timers and yourself need to be on full time contracts,get your CWU area rep involved and tell them what is going on.I really do think you have a case,will you get a full time contract? you wont know mate unless you have a go and dont work over your hours anymore.Good Luck.

sorry mate thats the last thing they will do.
by imtimidation they will just get them to absorb while they haven't got everyone standing together.
The managers are under pressure from up above with cuts and budgets.

3 months ago we were geo routed.since when ive finished on time about 4 days.mostly tuesdays.

well ive had enough. 3 months they cant claim is exception volume.its perminant.
im part time 30 hrs 7.15-13.15...not 14.30 or 1500

i would like to present a letter to my manger informing her that from monday i will be cutting off.
im willing to do no more than 30 minutes extra{takes care of paragraph 9.2 on my contract.overtime as and when the service requires}.unless of coarse she gives me a full time contract then ill work to those hours.

so if anyone fancy penning a firm but polite no arguments ,thats whats happening letter that i could copy,i would love you forever'ish.

plus i woulod circulate it to my collegue as we are all in the same boat.but some are more timid than others and wont cut off unless others do.

Why don't you all get together and discus over a pint or two all of you and make a policy between all of you and even have a vote if it please's your democratic need's!. NOW YOU MUST ALL GET BEHIND A LEADER (I SUGGEST YOU) AND YOU MUST ALL STICK TOGETHER FOR ONLY THEN CAN YOU ALL REALISE YOUR STRENGH THROUGH UNITY!.

Under the terms of reference within geo route, and I quote "A review of the revision will take place 12 weeks after deployment." I.E If you are constantly going over your time it needs addressing, testing manually if necessary because as the terms of reference state and I quote "It is also recognised that the outputs from the system are not the final state and are subject to local/area negotiation in line with the IR framework." Get your rep involved, use these quotes, he should be able to sort this out. If he doesn`t then inform management what you and your colleagues intend to do.

I regret to inform you, that since my round was Geo Routed (3 months ago), I have been unable to complete in the time allowed. I feel that it is unreasonable for me to be expected to use overtime to complete, on a daily basis. I would like to request that you arrange for my round to be reviewed, as it is currently taking around 4 - 4.5 hours.

As overtime is not compulsary, I am afraid that I can no longer continue to use overtime to compensate for the mistakes made by Geo Route. Therefore, I will only be doing the extra 30 minutes, required of my by paragraph 9.2 on my contract. After that, I will be cutting off.

I realise that this will cause problems or you. But I feel I have no other choice, as the situation is becoming untennable for me.

Nice one Andy, Looks ok, I'd only query the 30 minute extra bit, I'm sure that is voluntary as well. But it nice to the point and not bitchy either

It is very good apart from the CUTTING OFF bit maybe this(I am unable to complete within the contractual hour's of my contract and thus the universal service oblagation which is your responceability to carry out maybe under threat by your unreasonable demands in respect too my current contractual hour's) PS CHECK SPELLING AS I DO NOT USE SPELLCHECKER!. CUTTING OFF JUST GET'S THE BAST*RD'S BACKS UP FOR SOME REASON!.

I s their a differance between GeoRouting and Pegusus,the results apear to be be the same,a complete shambles( just a few teething problems according to RM)

i understand walks should not exceed 3.5 hours unless you ar doing overtime?

is their any large town /city office where these cost savings have been implemented and actualy saved money,in my office to implement it it has cost the co hundreds of thousands
in overtime payments ,Agencey staff,hired vans and increase fuel costs.
Not to metion substantial customer complaints and missing mai

Interesting to read on the news section here about all the diffrent managers falsifying figures,I am shocked about how wide spread this is and how long they get away with it .I Just wander how wide spread this is.

I use to always cut off, did'nt care what the managers said,they always made threats etc, I had to look after my young son same as alot of other people,what other job are you made to do overtime NONE.So it's simple if you can not complete in time & you don't want O/T,you CUTOFF end off.

I agree with kay_thebigbird. Its the best weapon in our armoury. Problem is, with the present economic crisis and RM employing mainly pt staff, they have to do the overtime to make ends meet. They end up walking for hours. When / if we get ballotted on Industrial action over the pensions issue, If it was a work to rule, I just wonder how many would actually do it. Having said that, it wouldnt take a large % of the workforce to work to their contracted hours to cause absolute chaos on the run up to xmas.
