35 hrs is that part time

is 35 hrs part time or full time according to royal mail need to to do with resign seniority

In my opinion...anything less than 40hrs is part time.

Normally to quote the Direct Gov web site:

What is a part-time worker?

A part-time worker is someone who works fewer hours than a full-time worker. There's no specific number of hours that makes someone full or part-time, but a full-time worker will usually work 35 hours or more a week.

But in Royal Mail anybody that has a contract for less than 40 hours per week is class as part time.

Not true, 32 hours is now classed as FT in my DO.

The old POEU/NCU-represented grades have been on 37.5 per week since 1977, but have never been part-timers.

Do they get full time pay if not they are partime!. But a 35 hour working week for all without loseing pay is a goal for our future indeed it is a must!.

Yes there a few left, but in the review of the office we now have 2 duties that are classed as FT but are only 32 hours over 4 days.

How can that be? That means if I worked 1 x 8hr day at your office I would be classed as as full time

so can i request that my contract be changed to 39 hr contact to help with the care of my baby son then i would also be part time and retain my seniority and get decent pick in resiogn rather than loose it to people who been there 5 years i have 10 years

Bit confused here, so perhaps someone could put me on the right track, One of our lads wishes to go down the buy down route as he only has a couple of years to go. He was told that he would retain his seniority even if he went to part time. Judging by what has been said on here that does not seem to be the case, or is it simply that RM has gradually eroded my brain power?
