Advice on stage 1 warning
Regrettably your mates are correct there are no rights of appeal on a stage 1. However if you believe they have issued the Stage in error or have made an Administrative error then write up your own statement and file it in your own system with the Stage 1 notice as well. This will aid you and the CWU in any future ET.
In your statement, if possible, write down exactly what happened, who you reported to and what the doctor said if you went to him. Also if possible get written statements from witnesses. As I say they won't be much use for know but will prove invaluable if you go down the ET route at some point in the future.

.every single one has been dismissed and the people ending up being punished for putting them in which has resulted in the grievence procedure not being used and people just going off sick with stress.

The person putting in the complaint (I believe the phrase is Bad Faith). Of course sometimes they do screw up and send out the letter saying that there is no case before they even conduct the interviews
