late special.
I don't now start till gone nine AM but am still forced to take out 1PM specials. I've spoken to the locker staff and refused to take the late ones as my finish time is gone 2.30 PM and I wasn't obliging the service offered but the DOM came over and insisted I take them even though they will be late stating that they still have till 2PM to clear them off the records. What's going on and what do you think my options are?

With the way the business is now mate this sort of thing is going on every where
Not our fault later starts, bigger walks etc,but what i used to do was when i went out on my walk i would make sure i done all my reg before 13.00 even if it meant going round in circles
I know what you guys are thinking but customers have paid for a service. Now though ALL our reg is on the vans
so not my problem anymore

Personally and I know if you, like me don't want the public to suffer I'd be tempted to do as your manager says. You see what you have to deliver at whatever tine your ready; approach your line manager with your query and put the decision in their laps. If, when you deliver the item the signer complains then you must tell them to complain to the SENDER of the Special Delivery. Only THEY can complain and get their money back. RM won't (I guess) like that. Performance figures etc etcb&wcat wrote:I don't now start till gone nine AM but am still forced to take out 1PM specials. Get everything in writing.
I'll think about how to word it and post some sort of template at a later date.

Best thing to do would be go to the guy in den who deals with it.check where it is on your walk.if you cant make it there by the specified time make him aware.if no joy then go to line manager and make him/her aware.dont sign for em and inform your line manager if you have to take em the special will fail due to not being able to get there by the specified time.
if made to take em do the delivery as normal.dont take specials out first then delivery.once a couple of them fail then manager will soon take them off your hands onto a driver if warranted.go through the same procedures with your office union rep also to cover yourself.that way they cannot touch you if you go by the book.that is what i tend to do and no issues whatsoever.education is the key and stay firm.
