DO THE JOB PROPERLY

A MESSAGE TO ALL DELIVERY MEMBERS

As you should all be aware on the introduction of the PAY & MODERNISATION PHASE 3 which in delivery basically means the end of JOB & FINISH. Royal Mail now expects you to work all the hours you are paid for. An example of this, your rep on a weekly basis along with your manager is duty bound to look at the possibility of lapsing duties if mail volumes & time allows. This could mean lapsing deliveries for different reasons, people on days off, or off sick, or on annual leave etc.

In our opinion the CWU should be glad to see the back of JOB & FINISH because it has meant our members doing everything in their power to finish early at the cost of their jobs.

To all the members who still use their cars, who dont take their meal breaks, who carry more than one pouch, who never weigh their pouches, who constantly start before their official time, NOW IS THE TIME TO STOP THESE CRAZY PRACTISES, START DOING THE JOB PROPERLY.

If you dont there is no point in complaining to the CWU that the manager is making you take another part of a delivery or asking you to stay indoors longer because if you are doing the above, you are creating the time to allow your manager to do this.

For those who will say ' but if I dont use my car how long will I have to wait for transport to my delivery and how will I receive my delivery pouches?'

This is not your problem, your job is to deliver the mail. It's your managers job to have bums on seats for every delivery person to be transported to their delivery and their job to make sure you receive your pouches.

Remember ROYAL MAIL now expects you to work ALL THE HOURS YOU ARE PAID FOR.

The CWU position is clearly stated in the PHASE 3 agreement, that all paid hours should be utilised and if there is capacity in your unit for some form of lapsing then this will happen, but not because our own members have created the time by not doing the job properly.
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

It's actually more than a few but hey........
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We had a letter a few day's ago along the same line's but i just typed out what the area manager said out!. It is so good that you have spelt it out to one and all that royalmail mean (buisness) and that this is the END of JOB AND FINNISH! And transport to the job is the manager's responsibility DO NOT USE YOUR CAR IT COST MONEY AND GIVES YOU MORE WORK TO DO!.

stand up the No2 scotland DO reps who currently use their cars to transport mail? I know of two in EH1-17.
I am a postman and I kept the faith and I kept voting, not for new labour but for the working man.
