Single duties
As far as I'm aware i'm going on a single duty and working on my own. How does DM26 work for single duties?

Re: Single duties
Every DO is different, as a minimum you'll do 50% of the whole duty each day plus all the 1c and Tracked on the other 50%. Plus what other work your COM decides you should also do.

Re: Single duties
I don't understand. A single duty seems like more work, as all the tracked and 1st class have to go. This new duty has 12 loops. So every day will be full mail for 6 loops, plus 1st class and parcels for ALL 12 loops.
I'm currently in a pod where I do 4 loops of mail and do all the parcels for those loops, plus parcels and first class for the other 5 loops. Then the next day I deliver all the mail and parcels for 5 loops and take the parcels and 1st class for 4 loops.
So what I'm being moved to seems like more work by comparison. I thought the union mitigated it to 4 loops of mail and 4 loops of tracked and 1st per person to make the workload more even.

Re: Single duties
Non pod singletons are 50/50, all mail/due mail. You will need to resort your ips at your frame so you only take the due mail on the other 50%. Any mail not going is put into a mech tray and placed under the frame. If you are full time you will still have indoor tasks to complete before you prep your duty.

Re: Single duties
I'm on a single. I do 50/50 rotated daily, 1st class and tracked off the half that isn't going and my own large. I throw everything into the frame except on the half that isn't going i keep the 1st class out. I get nothing else extra to do because the single duty as well as all the others have been made slightly bigger. If I have time in the morning then i'll help out on someone elses prep or maybe some sorting.

Re: Single duties
If your on a 50/50 duty you basically have been given a job upgrade while they pile all the workload into the pods.

Re: Single duties
Pretty much the way it is on ours. Singletons do 50/50 and a little bit here and there, pods are hammered with up to 500 more houses per person.
Good times.

Re: Single duties
My old round used to have 3.5 hours to try and do the lot. Apparently now there is 5 hours to do half

Re: Single duties
Single duties should be easy. Even if you have to bring back some mail, you can just bring back the mail from the half of your round that's light.

Re: Single duties
Easy until there's a clamp down and your told you can't bring post back? It's a fallacy to think the business is going to let anybody have it easy, particularly when they seem to be trying to force legacy posties out and they tend to have the singleton duties.

Thankfully the overrunning procedure remains, for now at least.

Re: Single duties
Don't forget the mail you'll have on the light half will be 1st class, is that supposed to get delivered as the priority or is it everything on the heavy side as it's reached it's time limit ?
