Would you strike to equalise pay and terms and conditions?

As the title says, would you go out on strike for equalisation?
I haven’t found anyone on a legacy contract in my office that would.

Why would legacy contract lose pay for new starters who were content to accept the terms when they took the job?

Because it is the right thing to do.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Once in the job, I don't think new entrants are happy with the different terms. It's the biggest reason they leave.

To those voting no. Be aware that it's likely that once the legacy staff are a big minority then that's then the equalisation will happen when they all get pay reduced to match the new contracts. So if we do don't get them up then legacy are likely going down.

Legacy and yes

Legacy should remember that it keeps their job safer if there is less incentive for the business to replace experienced legacy workers with cheaper entrants ( even though I’m a non driver so they want shot of me anyway )
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Whos contracts would be being equalised ? All i read on here is new staff leaving immediately

And how many of those who have lasted on new terms are in the union ? In my office very few have joined

The CWU is now nothing more than a paper tiger.
Meetings on meetings on meetings on meetings yet absolutely no communication with their membership.
No words, no action

Year on year the T&C's are deminushing and the "Union" are powerless to it

It'll never happen unless RM buys out our existing contracts, as they they can't just remove our supplements and paid breaks,

The union need to make any strike to be about BOTH equalisation and "no to ODM" (the ODM is coming soon by executive action regardless of discussions and resistance) in order to persuade the legacy people to strike. Its clear most will only strike for themselves and have no sympathy with new entrant colleagues. Little solidarity amongst comrades these days it seems. Combine the two issues and propose striking over both and then both legacy and new entrants will be more inclined to strike if they see it as a strike for all of us not just new entrants.

I'm on new contract. Been here 15 months. No plans to leave yet despite the crap wages. I earned a lot more in my previous job but it was a much more depressing place to work than RM and the managers were 10 times worse than RM too. I'm happy at RM now I've got away from doing DPR runs in the dark and finishing at 10pm most nights. I'm still hopeful of equalisation even though its looking less and less likely.

I agree with you. I’m on a new contract myself, and if the older workers are only going to think about themselves, then they can forget about solidarity on other issues. I’m already so overloaded with work that it literally can’t get any worse for me.

The poll results show just how badly organised the CWU is. The only way to defend existing t's and c's is to level up. There is no such thing as 'legacy' contracts but this is what happens when the CWU start using the term.

Ralph Ferret put up a video saying these types of posts that are showing royal mail, they can do what they want is part of the problem.
U've got a poll stating to royal mail we have no fight in us and that we aren't united.
