Last Christmas

Post by Thommo44 »

The last couple of weeks I’ve heard more people say ‘last Christmas’ than George Michael.

There's lots that talk about leaving all the time but never go. It's not easy when someone has been there a while. There's the doubt of finding something else and of not being able to adapt to a new job. Plus on the old contracts RM pays well for what the job is and the hours although not as good are still decent.

Yeah, hopefully my "last Xmas" I've just about had enough, fed up of the ever increasing ammount of parcels, fed up of mail just building up, fed up of D2Ds you just can't prep, fed up of compulsory Sundays, fed up of working harder but been paid less than a lot in my DO, and lastly I'm in my early 60s and not only is it physically getting harder it drains you mentally as well, I just want a much simpler less demanding job to take me up till retirement

You're kidding right?
We have no staff now, 1 in 10 is on sick over Xmas, we can't get mail out here, we have customers constantly on our back and are not getting out til 10am. Everyone's Xmas cards,NHS letters and even 1C are not going out.

Are you a COM in disguise ?

I'm glad my back went in 2023, The sheer volumes I'm hearing just tracked only delivery days 240+ items isn't great at all- Mail pilled up in MECH, Short staffed, Agency workers walking out over the sheer volume.

It's almost as if they Designed it to fail....

I'm not surprised many people are walking out and acknowledging their worth somewhere else, Morale is 2nd Class (quite literally), left in the fitting somewhere behind the 10 days worth of mail that the dividers are giving up and snapping....

its less tiring at christmas as your only doing one walk, after christmas ur doing one plus lapsing plus another depending on lack of staff more areas to cover thats more stressfull and tiring than only one to concentrate on

Why have you got customers on your backs? If they aren't happy with the service they are getting tell them to write to their MPs asking them why they allowed RM to be sold to a foreign company.
