My wife and I work in Wolverhampton office. On Saturday we had a huddle that they are scrapping or getting rid of the old combo vans. Saturday was the last day of using the old combo vans. They will be giving us newer vans. My wife has been driving the old combo van for over 20 years on her single round. So she was attached to it lol. I told her just relax and get use to the newer vans. She has no choice
Our office still had about 4-5 old combo vans.
I Got a few questions
Does any other offices still use the old combo vans ?
What do they do with the old combo vans. Do they give em to a different office to use or scrap em or sell em ?
Given the apparent upcoming merger of PF into RM I reckon you'll be getting larger vans as the combos will be way too small for what's coming through the network these days. Are the combos fit for anything but scrap given how much of a pounding they've had over the years?
We've got one that floats about our office and other local offices.weve also got some old terrible fiat diablos which are so fumey. Every single van in our office has things wrong with it. it can be very demoralising.the workshop just seems to patch up the vans.quite regularly the vans come back from the workshop without the problem even being fixed.its concerning.but not surprising.its been like this for years.im quite jealous of all you lot with these new vans.
Couple of Combos still kicking about for low traffic duties and spares. Trying to get a full walk in them these days leaves no space at all in all three dimensions. At least they still work - the new Peugeot vans seem plagued by transient electrical faults.

Would something the size of a transit van be the minimum required size these days?
