Re: uso
Royal Mail has to fulfil the USO as it is required by law that we must deliver to every house within the UK apart from exceptions that have been agreed. This does not mean that you must work beyond your time. It is up to your DOM to fulfil RM's obligation to the USO. If you can complete your delivery within your contractual hours then you must complete. If you cannot then you inform your DOM who must find a way to complete it.woofwoof wrote:universal service obligation

Re: uso
The CWU does agree with the requirement of the USO and has continually fought for adequate manpower in the shape of permanent full time employees in order to deliver the standard required. Tell your DOM that if he and his partners in crime weren't continually cutting budgets and telling lies - then there would be no problem meeting the USO requirements - but until that day comes round again, meeting it is his problem, not yours. You have contracted hours which you are obliged to work (but no more than that if you do not wish to). He is a salaried manager who will do what he is told to do when he is told to do it and will ask "how high?" when told to jump.woofwoof wrote:universal service obligation
