Royal Mail maintains it does not have a policy of prioritizing parcels over letters :left:

We keep getting told not to bring back tracked, just to cut off the mail and get the tracked done

A manager of any company can inform you what to do, no employee is bigger than the company.

No one can force you to do overtime. Do as many tracked and first class as you can (as officially there is no prioritisation of tracked over mail). Speak to your union rep for guidance in the first instance. But always remember, and I'll say this again, no one can force you to do overtime.

This is nonsense. As you say yourself " no employee is bigger than the company."

That includes the LM, whome actually holds a relatively lowly position in RM hierarchy. We as employees are supposed to follow the strictly regulated guidelines and policies of the company.

We're merely employees, we just do as instructed it's up to management to fellow guidelines etc, if we all ignore our managers instructions and just delivered what we felt we needed to deliver then it would be carnage at every DO.

These days I think that all management within a DO or MC just do as instructed by their boss or risk just being moved on and replaced with a manager who will do as instructed by their boss.

Phone in at every failed delivery (DPR) and I'm not joking.

You have said on another thread that you only deliver a maximum of 15 per hour and don’t take out anything in excess of this multiple. You therefore have more than enough time on your hands to call your LM. Out of interest, what does he say to you when you call him?

Have you been coached in how to be more successful at first-time delivery? You should only be bringing back truly undeliverable items. Based on 15 drops an hour, you have more than enough time to deliver every parcel you have onboard, trying several neighbours either side. If you’re not doing this, you’re not doing the job properly.

This is offered as constructive advice, Menditsa, so please receive it as such…

Do as instructed, try to get a witness to the said instruction, then do the said instruction.
You will still get paid at the end of the week/month.
Happy days.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'd ask for this 'instruction' in writing and ask for a phone while you're at it.

Just needs to get the correct phone number programmed into the PDA and use the phone functionality of the PDA.
