They did the same to me,Do what i did and refuse the return to work offer. Are you being asked to return on light duties? If you do not like what is being offered you can appeal,But if you lose the appeal you have to take what has been offered. The appeal form states that your appeal will normally be heard within two weeks.Even though they have overruled your doctors cert still keep getting them to cover your absence and if you can get a letter from your doctor stating that you are still unfit.Make sure that you get the details in writing from your manager of what has been offered.

in my opinion never talk about your illness with your manager what does any manager know about health matters i would refuse to talk to them about the state of my health ask to see the ohs or the post office doctor.

Always insist on being seen in person!

Never do one of these Telephone stitch-ups, always insist on seeing someone in person. If you can't get to them (for whatever reason), they will have to come to you.

It is stupid beyond belief, that they think, they can assess your health without even seeing you. But unfortunately, that is how RM wants to do these things!

After all, it's cheaper for them to have a load of people in Call Centres, than have places for them to actually see people!

As i said in an earlier post you can appeal the decision,Ask your manager for the appeal form,And say that you wish to appeal against your return to work offer.Pm me your email and i will send you a copy of the form(you will have to get your own). This has happened to me and i have gone back to work, but it took them ages to arrange the appeal. Are you in the union? I do not want to go into too much depth on here about my own case as this dust is still settling.

James sorry if this sounds rude and dont reply if you feel that you dont want to, but what sort of illness do you have? I have been off work for 10 weeks now and this is my 11th. I broke my leg and have had doctors notes all through my absence. Had a telephone interview with ATOS 6 weeks into my absence and told them in no uncertain terms that i was totally immobile (in plaster to waist and on crutches). They agreed to contact me in 4 weeks to arrange another interview. I received the letter last week asking me to attend an interview on monday(14th). As it happened i had an appointment in hospital so couldnt attend so i contacted my DOM and he cancelled the meeting. I now have another doctors note for another 4 weeks but i am sure there will be another appointment arriving for me in the post soon!

Atos cannot over ride your doctor, they can offer advice that is the simple fact. Your manager might think he is God, but he will be legally accountable if anything went wrong.
