Look out for an "excess duty " sheet on Tuesday (near to where you scan in or in the book-room upstairs) and see if your name is on it.
If it is, you can then sign it and choose option A or B, one will be money the other will be a day off.

Re: Bank holidays....
You’re entitled to a bank holiday credit or, alternatively, as Nick says above, payment in lieu. This is becauseyou have lost out on a rest day which occurred on a day you were entitled to be off and paid for anyway (the bank hol).
keep on at them and make sure they sort it. I have had problem after problem dealing with the bookroom PHG at ours over bank holiday credits etc.

Re: Bank holidays....
Because it's one of the s**t new contracts RM decided to dish out in the past few years, I can imagine how the interview went:
'Your walk will be prepped for you, all you'll have to do is walk out the door with it'
And then if not the reality:
'Yeah, we haven't got enough people, so do you mind coming in and doing a bit of prep on OT, we're hoping to get more people in to help'

Because it don't make sense. How on earth can someone be employed as a floater on a 4 hour a day contract? It isn't the 90's anymore..
