pay increase 1st April or 7th April

Post by faintree flyer »

I've just watched a dvd where Adam Crozier insists that The !st of April will be the eligible date for the 1.5% increase.

However now the management and the Royal Mail say it is the 7th April.

Who is right - pay us our money as promised!! :cfo

The 1.5% increase is dependant on the phase 3 trails. If your office does not sign up to what ever comes out of these trails you won't get the 1.5%.

Phase 3 – Transforming the way we work
Both parties are committed to introducing new ways of working throughout the business by April 2008. In order to achieve this there will be a trial in four offices per AGM area covering the following:
- New arrangements to cover for one another and develop sensible options to absorb absences, and increased workload, where time exists within normal hours
- To ensure all paid work hours are utilised
- To creates a working environment where employees, CWU reps and managers feel valued and motivated.
This flexibility could also facilitate arrangements for employees to make their own arrangements to cover and swap duties (subject to approval from their manager) – within contracted hours, providing quality of service is not adversely affected and there are no additional costs to the business.
Local ideas will be generated, agreed and deployed through trials by early January 2008. The trials will be nationally evaluated to identify the widest range of options for national roll out.
Local offices will be entitled to the 1.5% pay increase from 7 April 2008 subject to deployment of these new arrangements. Any offices where deployment is deferred will receive the additional 1.5% from the date of deployment

We're fecking phase 3 off down here when we're on to it.
We'll work our nuts off to get '2' done because it's beneficial to US.

Phase 3,let THEM sort it out and when it happens it happens,no rush.
:whistle

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Already told our DOM that you can stick covering each other where the sun don't shine, and he agrees with us. It will cost them to much money and a load of hassle as the car users will then start doing the job properly. The DOM'S won't want that will they. :hmmmm

Oh, so that's what those letters and phone calls when if I'm off sick do is it ? Make me feel valued ? And of course that 1.5% pay increase that's gotta last me til at least April 2009 is really gonna motivate me

I don't think I will notice a fiver increase due to massive fuel costs.
