30 hour week!.

Post by Rommagic »

If the Royal mail wanted us all on a 30 hour per week because of the new machines coming in our basic pay per week would be about £280 after tax a week with a six hour saturday and D2Ds.
How much money would the Royal Mail save per year?.How could people pay there bills losing 10 hours per week?.

I'm also on 30 hours and I've never received 6 hours SA in seven and a half years. Take my word for it, Saturday is classed as a normal day with no additional payment. If F/T go down to 30 hour weeks, you will notice the difference! Oh and the amount you earn on 30 hours is too much to get Working Tax Credits.

Im sure it wont happen for a while yet Dirty Harry. I'm sure they can't force those who would not want to drop to 30 hour contract.

i work on the lsm's in a mail center but you can see the delivery boys all coming in early and grabbing their mail off our machines. then its the mad rush around then off out in their own cars to make an hour or more finish every day.

You can see royal mail rubbing their hands together at the potential savings and its all down to them not doing their jobs properly. When the big cuts in hours come which im sure they will soon or later after the sequence sorters come in it will be mostly their own faults but their too short sighted to see whats coming.

I heard that royal mail were going to give you the option to sell your full time contract
