Locally I believe they've either been removed or rusted away. Many post boxes locally used to have them bolted to the side, they're long gone

Probably the usual of every office doing things slightly differently. Is there a lack of places to park the vans once you're out on delivery? if so, that might explain it.

More likely for hct duties, we still use them.

You may still be using them but if RM withdrew their use do you think they still have permission to do so
Cant see them paying for things that have been withdrawn

I think we still have one with a working lock and the duty holder still has a key! Last time I was anywhere near it it was on its last legs, so much rust damage it certainly wasn't very secure.

Some were removed and others are still about here and there, keys long gone missing.

About a dozen HCTs in my place. And I think a few of use would find having them back a godsend. On a Wednesday and Thursday I typically fill up 3 or 4 pouches with packets for a DPR driver to bring out and top me up with.

They are still used but not by many in my former office, we had a load put in about 2011, and I went with the dom as CWU rep who was doing the revision to the local town hall to get planning permission, they cost £1800 each and that was a one-off payment, this was in a London borough so I don't know what they cost else were or if they changed borough to borough.

No, North office, Nottingham have had theirs all repainted red so they are definitely in the equation for something

DO’s were asked back in 2010’s to state pouch boxes weren’t getting used to reduce the estate.Some DO’s got all their pouch boxes removed, some didn’t choose too.Some DO’s still them use for resupplying the HTC’s.
Pouch boxes and postboxes are painted by ROMEC as part of an ongoing maintenance programme.But when a member of the public complains about there condition ie graffiti or rusty they get spruced up outwith the maintenance programme.

Only three or four duties left in the office that officially use them and they are maintained by Romec (or whatever they're called now). Most have either been removed or allowed to decay. I've seen the same number tags on pouch boxes in other areas so I assume similar arrangements exist there too, in one case definitely for HCT refill.

It's a nightmare trying to cram stuff in them these days, anyway.
