There will be some sort of deal done on this delivery supplement to build it into basic pay and make it pensionable. They may come up with some form of cash sum (from the pension surplus) and the CWU are pushing for an inflation based deal, possibly over 3 years (paid from the proposed USO reform savings), whilst dangling the carrot of cooperation on USO reform as the incentive to agree. Let's see what happens :cuppa

This is the way it works in my DO.
Someone says they have it from a good source that it will be 10%.
In a game of what used to be known as Chinese whispers but probably isn't anymore, the "good source" is quoted as having said anything between 25% and 75%.
We then have to go to a meeting where the rumour is what used to be known as Scotched (but probably isn't any more)

Then we go back to waiting until someone else starts an unfounded rumour.

An aside:
In the US it is called Telephone.
In France it is called Arab phone.
In China it is called geese to geese.

Yes there have and Martin Walsh alluded to it in his last appearance on CWU live. The current headline is the CWU bargaining functional supplements away to fund a pay rise.

Plenty of rumours and guess work I see when in reality nobody has a clue.

As ever the position is that any pay rise must be self funding. Obviously the increase in NI contributions will be part of that position. The CWU's position is equalising contracts not harmonising them. That equalisation is in a downward direction.

It was stated in the EPGroup agreement that AFTER the company has been taken over then the negotiations would start for the payrise.
I've not looked at the agreement for a while but i'm sure it said it would take upto 6 weeks to negotiate then backdated to April 2025.
So everything is on hold until the outcome of the take over.
Minimum wage going up by 6.7%. Need atleast that just to hold our ground.
