This is what I've tried to tell them in our office, they just don't see the s**t they got coming to them.
Regarding OT just book what you're owed on Saturday, if you're in credit make the most of it. I suppose you could try and say you won't work more than 40 hours per week, and if your hours are going to go over 40 by the end of the week regualrly, then they'll have to sort something out, we have'nt signed new contracts and as we all know you can't be forced to do overtime.

As others have said 'Do the job properly and you'll come out on top, and have the moral high ground."

Someone was telling me on delivery, that they were talking to someone else from another office and he commented on how crap moral was, It was a bit perverse to find out other office's are as s**t as mine :)

30 minutes extra is the enabler that should be only used in emergency only......such as late arrival due to adverse weather conditions or lorry breakdown from the mail centre.

And, as that 30 mins RM will be after, is YOUR TIME, it can only be given voluntarily. It's up to you if you wish to work overtime, there is no such thing
as compulsory overtime. :so there

Trouble is, we all know that DOMs try and make it up as they go and it's up to us to be 1 step infront. DOMs don't like to think to hard, so if we already have the answers, we can get on with our day :)

Just reading the Variation Of Hours section of flexibility agreement it says "for example when traffic volumes are unexpectedly high or resourcing issues arise, individuals may be asked on any given day and may themselves request to vary their duty by up to 30 minutes extra on a swings and roundabouts basis." As the term used is "asked" and not "instructed", can I assume that this is purely voluntary? :hmmmm :hmmmm

I stopped posting replies on this website because all I ever got back was 'It has nothing to do with the yes vote. Shut up.'

Well me old mates, I have been trying to tell you that when a union and workforce cave in for a poxy £400.00 and whatever we got just before xmas, it is a green light to management to impose what THEY think is in that agreement.

The topic posted here is to do with one office management trying to implement THEIR version of flexibilty. This will happen all over the country. You see it all the time on this site. Question after question asking if this is right or that is right.

Voting yes was a massive mistake and yes, people will lose their jobs as management will discipline workers according to their interpretation of this new huge agreement.

For example we argued that the european speed restrictions would not affect us at all and the later start times were not necessary. It was impemented without so much as a murmur from the CWU. And guess what, I was told today by a manager that it was all bollocks and we were lied to. It was brought in just to make us start later and finish later.

We now have a missort run that is held back at the mail centre, where the driver is told he cannot leave until 8.30am even though he is ready to leave at 8.00am. Another delaying tactic by management. Admitted by the same manager. ( He's off in 2 weeks, so he doesn t give a s**t!). But I don t remember being told by the CWU or RM that a later missort run would be implemented?

We have people leaving and being replaced by agency workers. The manager told me we are paying the agency about £17.00 an hour. Tell me where that was agreed between CWU and RM. Crozier giving it bollocks on the radio that we can only earn overtime if we have worked our time and here we are, paying agencies £17.00 a f***ing hour. When we cant get docket at around £8.80 an hour.

So we are going to get change after change on the back of this agreement some we know about some are hidden in small print. But believe me once the £400 has gone (about £270 after tax) the deal will look like a piece of shite.

Pass me that paddle, cos we are up the creak...............................

How long could we have gone on the way most of our colleagues were finishing WELL before their
finish time?.
How can ANY union hide this fact?
It was there for the taking, dispute or no.
Have a look at the top of this web page. It's in red.

GET ON THE VANS! START AT YOUR OFFICIAL TIME! WEIGH YOUR BAGS! TAKE YOUR BREAK! SAVE YOUR JOBS!!!

I have no problem with the utilisation of ALL paid hours.Because i have said it time after time after time.

How many reading this forum used their car this morning?
How many reading this forum did not take their meal relief this morning?
How many reading this forum came in BEFORE 6.15 today?

I suppose the way out of this is to blame the union, blame the goverment, blame the management.

I would say a very small minority. But it always seems to be the main focus.

What about the posties that come in right on time, don t use their cars and do take meal relief. Why are they not the centre of attention. It seems we are in this mess because union and management found a common ground. Blame a very small group and use that to implement large changes.
