There are supposed to be dedicated Work Place Coaches that look after you for the first few days.

I was just dumped with a regular postie, but to be fair, he was very helpful.

But they (WPC) get paid more every week even if they don’t get anyone
so getting dumped with anyone they should get the money too

It's the wpc role to train workers. There is an ad-hoc payment for workers who are not wpc's who are asked to train others.

Yep, when I started I was with two regular posties who have never trained anyone before, they got £7.50 each day for the two days they trained me

In our depot its very simple and we always stick to this rule.
Anybody except the work place coaches.

Iirc the criteria was you could have one wpc for every twenty staff so if the wpc payment is about £40 by now maybe get a couple of quid each if your lucky

We have a WPC who, once they got the job, no longer did/does a walk. The DOM used the WPC application process to make his pet up to be a defacto manager. Other people applied to be a WPC at the same time as the DOM’s pet but they all still do a walk and the opportunity to be defacto manager wasn’t open to them

You add that up for every office in the uk , that’s a fair amount of money that could and should be better utilised.
